Child able to speak

The child's name: Akshatha
Background of Childbirth: The child is 3 years old. She has delay in speech. Her throat is torn need to make the operation. She was not even able to say or call ‘papa or mamma’.

Intervention: Intervention at first when the early interventionist visited the house observed that the child is not able to talk not even to call mamma.

Visited for assessment to the child's home and observed the child's growth according to Checklist, she had a delay in speech.

The parents had taken the child to the hospital and the doctor suggested to have a surgery. Therefore the parent’s took her to the hospital but the child was restless and when the parents take her to the hospital it would cry a lot. Therefore the parents did not succeed in giving her the surgery.

In 2022 when the early interventionist from ORBIT visited the house through the help of Anganvadi teachers they collected the data and promised the parents that they would help them.

Changes in Child Development By visiting the house regularly and doing the follow up by the early interventionist they helped Akshatha to speak for some extend. Activity started to Akshatah by asking the child to repeat the small words like mamma, papa etc. The child cooperated well in repeating the words which they were saying to repeat.

Self-care about the child's cleanliness and the activity of eating with his own hands, the activity of dressing, was told in front of the parents. In this way, the child has completely changed with the activities given by the parents and us. There has been a lot of change in our child.

Parent's Opinion: There has been a lot of change in her development compared to her earlier development, she goes to school without any help, writes and socialises with everyone, has become aware of cleanlinessThe activity is continued to this day, ,
