This program aims at developing and promoting sustainable approaches and strategies caring and protecting our common home – Mother Earth. ORBIT has been working in rural areas with the farmers, women and youth since 1993. As the people of the district are predominantly agriculturists and most part of the agriculture is rain fed, they depend on rains for the cultivation and thereby for sustainable living. Constant droughts in the region has doubled the woes of the already impoverished people. Hence ORBIT understanding the situation, pulled its resources together and ventured into the Watershed program thereby helping people to sustain agricultural activities. ORBIT successfully completed seven watershed programs covering over 4000 acres of land. ORBIT also has been protecting the environment by promoting planting of saplings in all is project area.

Along with this ORBIT also has launched awareness on using alternative source of energy. It has promoted usage of Solar Energyamong farmers and households. ORBIT has installed Solar powered lights, solar water heaters in its own campus and in its sub centres and care homes.

ORBIT also has started campaign against use of single usae plastic and reducing the quantum of plastic in day today life to protect the soil and environment. It has started using and promoting cloth bags, cloth banners etc in this direction.
