Family Background:
Tukaram lives with his wife and two children. They belong to a poor family. Fourteen years ago, he worked as a daily wage labourer and lived peacefully with his family. Gradually, he started crying frequently, shouting, arguing, and stopped going to work. He would lie at home most of the time and eventually slipped into depression.

Cause of Illness:
Tukaram developed depression after a fall while driving a vehicle.

Symptoms:
• Not stepping out of the house
• Avoiding communication
• Getting angry easily
• Quarrelling with family
• Sleeplessness
• Continuous crying

Support from ORBIT Organization:
Under ORBIT’s Navajeevana Programme, field animator Mrs. Pooja visited his home during a survey. After Counselling his wife and family, she motivated them to bring Tukaram to the DMHP camp. He received free medical check-ups and medication.

Present Condition:
Tukaram now interacts normally with everyone. He sleeps well at night and takes his medicines regularly. His overall health has improved significantly. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to ORBIT for their support.
