• Leaving the house and wandering off
• Sitting by the roadside
• Throwing stones
• Using abusive language
• Shouting at people passing by

Support Received from ORBIT Organization:
When Mrs. Mahadevi, a field animator under ORBIT’s Navajeevana Programme, visited the village for a survey about one and a half years ago, she learned about Taherabegum’s condition.

The family shared that they had taken her to Bidar, Dharwad, several temples, and religious places, but despite all these efforts, her condition did not improve.

Mrs. Mahadevi then advised her brother to take her to the Humnabad Government Hospital on a Wednesday, where she could be examined and provided free medication under the District Mental Health Programme. Through repeated guidance and follow-up visits, the family finally brought her to the hospital, where she received appropriate treatment and free medicines.

Present Condition:
Taherabegum is now showing improvement.
• She helps with small household tasks such as washing utensils and clothes.
• She interacts a little with family members and neighbours.
• She continues taking her medicines regularly, which has contributed to her recovery.
Her family has expressed their gratitude to the ORBIT organization for helping her access free treatment and supporting her progress toward better mental health.
