Background: The Bhagyalakshmi Women’s Self-Help Association has been functioning under ARBIT for 15 years with 10 members. Meetings are held every Thursday at 8 PM at Mrs. Surekha’s house. Personal, family, and community issues are discussed, including a long-standing drinking water problem.

Problem and Solution: Despite informing municipal members about the water issue, no action was taken. ORBIT staff, through various trainings (strengthening associations, Panchayat Raj, leadership, women’s rights), guided the members. After discussions, a formal request was submitted to the municipality, which resulted in the construction of a new water tank within a month.

Outcome : Members faced serious difficulties due to water scarcity. ORBIT staff guided us on how to address the issue, and collective action with the municipality resolved the problem. Gratitude is expressed to ORBIT and Cross organizations for their support.
