Family Background:
There are five members in the family, and the parents have three children. Father is a daily wage laborer. Mother is a homemaker. The family lives in extreme poverty.

Details of Disability:
The child did not cry at birth and was kept in an incubator for 15 days.
Type of Disability: Difficulty in recognizing sounds, cannot sit, cannot hold objects.

Birth History
The child’s head was large at birth. Since he did not cry, he was kept in an incubator.

Before Intervention:
During a home visit, the child could not respond to sound, could not turn left or right, could not sit, and found it difficult to hold objects.

How We Identified:
1. Through survey and home visits with help of parents 2. Through assessment

Recommendations:
Activities to identify sound, sitting with wall support, and holding objects were taught.

Medical Intervention:
Due to head size, scanning was advised.

Outcome:
After interventions, the child can sit without support, recognize parents, and hold objects.

After Intervention (Parents’ Feedback):
“Our child could not do anything since birth; he remained lying down. Because ORBIT staff visited twice a month and conducted activities, our child has improved a lot. We are very happy.” The family thanked ORBIT and APD for helping with the UDID card.
