Background: Mrs. Padmini is a resident of Cheenker. She has two daughters and one son. Her husband was the sole earning member. With rising expenses and low income, she found it difficult to run the household and educate the children.

Problem & Solution: Under ORBIT’s guidance, the Arunodaya Women’s SHG was formed and Padmini became a member. She was oriented about SHG functioning, savings, and mutual support. She used internal loans to educate her children.

Support from ORBIT: She attended various trainings such as leadership, Panchayat Raj, self-employment, and domestic violence. Inspired by the message “a woman is not weak but strong,” she developed the confidence to excel. She purchased a sewing machine and began tailoring work. Later, she was appointed as an ASHA worker. She also availed a ₹35,000 Samruddhi loan to buy a pico-fall machine, earning ₹300–₹400 per day.

Padmini said ORBIT brought new light into her life. The guidance she received helped her gain strength, educate her children, and start a livelihood. She expressed sincere gratitude to ORBIT and Samruddhi.
