Background of the Person:
She is a member of the Dayasagara Self-Help Group and has been associated with the ORBIT organization for about 15 years. She has three children — one daughter and two sons. Her husband works as a painter. After joining the SHG, she has spent 15 years in the group and her current situation has improved; she works in the fields and also rears sheep. Through the Dayasagara SHG, she availed a loan of ₹1,00,000 from the bank and ₹25,000 from Samruddhi. By combining agricultural work with sheep rearing, her livelihood has strengthened. The first sheep she bought gave birth, and now she has five sheep — from one to two and then to five. By selling sheep and earning additional income, she is providing good education for her children. Earlier she faced financial difficulties, but now she is running her life well through self-employment while also continuing agricultural labour. By joining the SHG, she regularly attends the monthly meetings and has learned about SHG concepts and leadership, and has received training related to livelihoods. The staff of the organization regularly visited the group and explained SHG rules and guidelines.
