Background: Janaki lives in Hudugi village and has three children. Earlier, only her husband earned, and they have a BPL card. They own a house but do not have agricultural land. Janaki stayed at home and did household chores.

Problem and Solution: Janaki joined the women’s self-help group formed by ORBIT about 13 years ago. Initially, she had no knowledge of group functioning or other subjects. After joining, she received training on leadership, women’s rights, networking, government schemes, etc. She developed leadership qualities, built networks with officials, and helped others obtain labour cards, ESHRAM cards, and ration cards. She also applied to the Panchayat for resolving village issues.

Support from ORBIT: Janaki gained confidence and knowledge after joining the group. She built networks, learned to speak confidently, and became capable of facing challenges. She now helps others get their work done and has improved her life and family’s well-being.
