During a village survey under ORBIT’s Navajeevana Programme, field workers learned about HaseenaBanu’s illness. She had been suffering from this mental health condition for nearly 11 years.
Earlier, she had been taken to private hospitals in Hyderabad and Dharwad for treatment. ORBIT team informed the family about the free services available at the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) camp at the government hospital. They later brought her to the DMHP camp, where she received a free medical check-up and free medication.
