Godavari – Access to Government Benefits After Husband’s Death
Name: Godavari
Husband’s Name: Bhimsha (deceased)
Village: Nimbur
Taluk: Humnabad
District: Bidar
SHG Name: Vijaya

Background: Mrs. Godavari is a resident of Nimbur village. She has one son and one daughter. She works as a daily wage laborer. She has a BPL card, a house, and 2.5 acres of land. She has been an SHG member for 16 years.

Problem & Solution: After her husband passed away, life became extremely difficult. ORBIT staff visited her, consoled her, and informed her about government benefits and schemes available to widows. She attended various trainings on women’s rights, leadership, government schemes, and networking.

Support from ORBIT: Godavari’s widow pension and Gruha Lakshmi payments had been blocked for seven months. ORBIT staff helped her:
• Visit the Tahsildar office
• Complete KYC
• Link Aadhaar with bank accounts
• Open a new post-office savings account

After this, she started receiving:
• Widow pension – ₹800 per month
• Gruha Lakshmi – ₹2,000 per month
She also applied for crop registration (Raitha Samparka Kendra), received the Tadapatri certificate, and applied for micro-irrigation facilities, receiving pipes and sprinklers. She also registered property in her name.

She expressed heartfelt gratitude to ORBIT for giving her courage during a difficult time, helping her access government schemes, and ensuring financial stability for her family.
