Background: Mrs. Geeta has been living in Kappargaon for 15 years. Her husband did not allow her to speak to anyone or go for wage work. She stayed at home with no social exposure.

Problem & Solution: Through ORBIT, the Gulabi Women’s SHG was formed and Geeta became a member. The ORBIT staff spoke with her husband and convinced him to allow her to attend weekly SHG meetings and make small savings.

Support from ORBIT: With the training she received from ORBIT, she gradually improved her knowledge and skills. She accessed internal loans ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 to support her husband’s work. She also took a ₹35,000 Samruddhi loan to support her husband’s lorry-driving occupation.

Outcome : The SHG and Samruddhi program greatly helped their family. Their household is now running well, and she expressed gratitude to ORBIT for supporting them.
