Family Background:
Ganapati lives with his parents, sister, and brother. The family is economically poor. Fourteen years ago, he attended school regularly and lived a normal life. Over time, he began crying frequently, fighting, avoiding work, and staying indoors all day. His father believed he was possessed by an evil spirit or affected by black magic. The family took him to many babas and other places and even sold 2 acres of land for treatment, but his condition did not improve. Feeling helpless, the family eventually stopped seeking help.
Reason for Illness:
Ganapati fell into depression after witnessing both his mother and sister suffer from similar conditions.

• Not talking to anyone
• Anger and quarrelling
• Sleeplessness
• Attempting to harm others
• Continuous crying
Support from ORBIT Organization:
Two years ago, during survey work, ORBIT field animator Mrs. Pooja visited their home. With information from the ASHA worker, she explained to his family that mental illness is treatable and that free treatment is available at government hospitals. She convinced them to bring Ganapati to the DMHP camp, where he began receiving medication.
Current Condition:
Ganapati now speaks with everyone, sleeps well at night, and has shown noticeable improvement through daily medication. He has expressed sincere gratitude to ORBIT for their continuous support.
