Family Background:
Dileep lives with his wife and two children. About eight years ago, he worked as a daily wage labourer and lived a stable life. Over time, he began suspecting his wife, fought frequently, stopped working, became addicted to alcohol, and fell into depression.
Cause of Illness:
Constant suspicion toward his wife and ongoing property disputes with his brothers.
Symptoms:
• Putting fingers in ears
• Avoiding communication
• Anger and quarrelling
• Lack of sleep
Support from ORBIT:
During a Navajeevana Program survey, ORBIT staff Mrs. Pooja learned about his condition. Initially, his wife did not agree to treatment, but with continuous Counselling and follow-up, the family eventually brought Dileep to the DMHP camp. He now takes medication regularly.
Current Condition:
He has started talking to others, stopped putting his fingers in his ears, and sleeps well. Regular medication has improved his condition noticeably.
