• To support and enhance gender-equality not only in theory but also in praxis that isin the political system.• To enable more women to take part and get in the political system on Panchayat Raj level.
• To enable the women to take up leadership and be part of the decision making and taking process which would help in reducing corruption and exploitation in the public sector and help and reform the political system on Panchayat level.
• To empower elected women representatives (EWRs) to actively participate in governance and development planning.
Activities carried out:
• Strengthening women empowerment through election process• Nomination filing
• Interface meetings
• Press-meet about sarojini naiduprashasti
• Women Leadership Workshop (WLW)
• Follow up meetings
Outcomes:
• 10 Blocks 89 SHG women have been elected to the Gram Panchayat• Women are participating in Panchayat general Body Meeting effectively
• 606 Women received training; local governance became more transparent and participatory.
