Introduction
Project SwaPrerit is a transformative initiative of ORBIT (Organization of Bidar Integral Transformation) with the support of Garima Foundation, Netherlands. It focuses on empowering HIV-infected and affected adolescents in Bidar district, many of whom are orphans and semi-orphans facing social stigma, poor nutrition, and limited educational opportunities. This project aims to provide them with education, skills, livelihood opportunities, and psychosocial support to lead a dignified and sustainable life.Objectives

Activities
• Identification and Outreach: Mapping and enrolling HIV-affected adolescents in Bidar with support from ART centers and networks.• Family Visits and Counseling: Understanding family needs, providing guidance, and preparing individual support plans.
• Introduction Camp: An orientation camp with sessions on HIV awareness, life skills, leadership, and resilience.
• Skill and Education Support: Activities to enhance education, health, nutrition, and livelihood opportunities.
• Monitoring and Follow-Ups: Regular counselling, mentorship, and tracking progress.
March 2025 –September 2025
The project started on 01/03/2025. During the first two months, fieldwork was carried out in Humnabad and Chitaguppa taluks. A total list of 96 HIV-infected children was available, out of which information was collected on 64 children. A study was conducted on the family situation of these 64 children. Some families had migrated to cities such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai for work, and some children had been married. Hence 49 children were selected as beneficiaries.On 26/05/2025, the Nutrition Program was inaugurated at ORBIT, Humnabad. Rev. Fr. Victor Vas, Sr.Sheela Jenifer, Mr. Arun Kote, and Mr. Yohan and the families of 19 Beneficiaries’ were present for the program. A total of 19 beneficiaries were selected for the nutrition support. Each of the 19 beneficiaries would receive half a litre of milk and one egg per day for 3 months.
On 20/07/2025, 5 beneficiaries were enrolled in a six-month computer training course for the period from 20th June 2025 to 20th Dec 2025 covering the following modules is such as
1. Basic Computer Windows,
2. Advanced MS Office,
3. Tally,
4. PageMaker,
5. CorelDraw
6. Photoshop.
The cost each program was set at Rs.500 for per person per month, making it Rs.3,000 per person for six months. Computer course is for 5 beneficiaries, the total cost came to Rs.15,000.
Alongside this course, Tailoring course was also started for two beneficiaries:
On 14/06/2025, one beneficiary began training in Bhemalkheda village, with a monthly fee of Rs.1,000. And On 17/06/2025, another beneficiary began training in Chitaguppa, with a monthly fee of Rs.800. This tailoring training program is being conducted for duration of four months from June to October 2025.
